The Service Organization Benefiting Recovery (SOBR) was created by a group of concerned parents to provide financial support to organizations engaged in preventing and treating substance abuse and other destructive behaviors in adolescents and young adults.  The current focus of our efforts are:

-  Supporting facilitated alternative peer groups for at risk adolescents and young adults that have pledged to hold one another accountable for their sobriety, encourage appropriate life choices, and support a lifestyle free of destructive behavior.

-  Providing access to safe and secure facilities in which adolescents and young adults can gather for recreational purposes.

-  Financing service projects in which at risk adolescents and young adults participate under the supervision of a licensed counseling professional for the purpose of making available to adolescents and young adults opportunities to gain an understanding of their value as a sober and productive individual.

The principal source of funds for SOBR are the parents of adolescents and young adults that are, have, or are recovering from the effects of substance abuse or other destructive behaviors, individuals that have experienced the effects of substance abuse or other destructive behaviors either directly or as a family member, and concerned member of the community. SOBR does not have any employees and 100% of all funds raised are distributed by a volunteer board of directors to organizations that meet the needs of adolescents and young adults struggling with substance abuse and other destructive behaviors.
